Story changes were made when Electronic Arts (who owned the System Shock franchise rights at that time) signed on as publisher. It was originally designed as a standalone title ( Junction Point) with no relation to the previous game. The game was released on 11 th of August, 1999. Man was I stupid.System Shock 2 is the sequel to System Shock. These are tips for playing it like I did the first time- zero upgrades to your personal characteristics, 12 HP health maximum, 2hits=death. Well, that has something like a 20% success rate. Also, it's possible to charge them strafing from side to side, evading their throwing stars, but. No other way, as they run backwards much faster than your own default run. You either need to ambush them and kill them before they stop reeling from the first hit, or corner them, at great damage to yourself. I did it with both a wrench and the shard. They do cause quite some damage though, that could be a problem.ģ) Eh, just run by them at a proper angle, they'll explode harmlessly or with minimal damage to yourself.Ĥ) Very difficult, but doable. By the time you get to them, you have the proper OS upgrades to take care of them.Ģ) Lure them around corners and whack them when they come. Anyway, I reckon it could definately be done - the only problems being:Ģ) Psi Reavers (they float about in the air, FFS!)Ĥ) Cyborg Assassins1) Eh, not really.
